Product Empties-Summer of 2020

Hi, beauties. I’m long overdue for product empties but here it is Product empties-Summer of 2020. This year has been strange and I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels that way.

I am glad I found products that I managed to go through. Using up beauty products make me happy. This means I have found something that works for me without having to waste it or give it away.

Skincare has become one of my favorite things to focus on. I still love makeup and other beauty products but skin-care has become more important now that I’m 34. I feel that my skin has changed in the last few years and now I try to find products that are good for the skin and improve my skin.

Enough of the chit chat. Let us get to the products I used up.

Skincare

I have 3 items to talk about today. I do have a review coming about the Volition beauty.

Paula’s Choice Exfoliate 2% BHA Liquid

has become one of my favorite toner type products to use as it helps unclog pores and reduce the underskin bumps. I get clogged pores very easily and this product seems to help but without excessive over-drying. I apply it with a cotton square and let my skin absorb it.

This is my 2nd bottle of this product and I will repurchase once I run out of my current toner. I do have to say my skin likes variety so usually, I have to switch up products but it has to be something exfoliating.

Lumene Nordic-C Brightening Hydra Oil

is great for dry to combination skin types. I don’t think someone with oily skin would enjoy this as much as dry skin person because it leaves the skin very dewy and oily. Personally, I have combination skin and I did enjoy it.

I would repurchase this product but I would like it better during winter months when the air is cooler and dryer. Brightness wise I don’t think it did anything but it does leave your skin with a healthy moisturized glow when you wake up.

It has a mild scent but nothing that bothered me. Usually, scents are a big NO for me but this product is fine.

Olehenriksen Banana Bright Eye Cream

is my favorite eye cream. This is my third or fourth jar of it. The reason I like it so much is that it hydrates and brightens the eye area because of the yellow tint.

This eye cream plays nice with makeup too. I have never noticed any problems such as pilling or creasing with concealers or any other makeup. This is a definite repurchase.

Now one thing is the scent. It does have a scent but it seems to be Vitamin C scent. At least that’s what I detect but the scent does fade.

Face Products

This time I have more makeup products than skincare. I found a few good clean beauty products this summer.

Ilia Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40

has quickly become my favorite light foundation. It has very light coverage but it leaves the most beautiful healthy glow and it dries down enough where I only have to set my t-zone.

My pores seem to be less noticeable and it does not sink into the fine lines as most full-coverage foundations do. If anything it seems to plump and smooth the fine lines.

There is a scent but it smells like sunscreen which fades after you apply. It doesn’t seem to cause any clogged pores or breakouts on my skin.

Ilia True Skin Radiant Priming Serum

is my absolute favorite primer because it moisturizes the skin but keeps it from getting oily throughout the day. I can’t even explain how amazing this primer is.

There are small glitter particles in this primer but it does not leave glitter on your face. You are left with a beautiful glow.

I do get a slight hint of scent but to me, it seems like fresh air. I know weird but that’s what I think of when I smell it.

REPURCHASE for sure. I ordered mine from Sephora but it seems to be sold out every time I want to get a new one.

L.A.Girl PRO Conceal

I hated this concealer when I first purchased it. It was such light coverage and it seemed to sink into all my fine lines under the eyes.

I’m not sure what caused me to try it months later but I did and I’m glad I did. I think the reason I love it now is that my makeup preference has changed. Now I prefer a glowy skin with my imperfections peeking through and this is exactly what this concealer does.

It is super affordable and has no scent. I have so many concealers currently in rotation but this is one that I would pick up again.

Brows

I had two brow products in rotation at the same time. I know, I know overkill.

Benefit Gimme Brow

is an ok brow gel. It has a nice small brush so you can get it onto the brows without having your full face covered in brush strokes. I do think its a bit too dry for my liking because it doesn’t hold my brows the full day.

Glossier Boy Brow

Now, this brow gel became my current favorite. I prefer it so much more over the Benefit Gimme Brow. Boy brow also has a nice small brush but the formula is a bit wetter, helping the brows stay in place longer. It has nice pigment which makes your brow hair look fuller.

I already have a replacement for this.

Mascara

Thrive Causemetics Liquid Lash Extensions

is an amazing mascara. It gives volume and length both and the best part, its a tubing mascara. Tubing mascaras are great for people with hooded eyes. This mascara never smudges on my brow bone and when you go to wash it out all you need is water. It comes off in tubes and no panda eyes. Yay.

I don’t get any eye irritation from this but I don’t have sensitive eyes. This is my second tube of it and I already have another one in use.

Most of these products have become part of my daily routine. I don’t have all my products saved but I am going to do a better job of saving the empties so I would have more things to share with you. Also, the previous empties post is here if you would like to review it.

Have you tried any of these products and if you have what did you think?

Love Kat
