Murad Environmental Shield review

Occasionally I order products that seem interesting to me to try out. The Murad Environmental Shield line was one of them.

I’m a huge skin care fan. I love trying out skincare to find out what works for me. I have a very sensitive skin so most things really don’t work out for me. This Murad line is both hit and miss for me.

I ordered a set of 3 products from Sephora to try out. I don’t believe this set is available anymore but you can purchase the Bright Beginning 30 day Discovery Kit. This kit comes with a cleanser. My set came with full size items-Murad Essential C Moisture Broad Spectrum SFP30, Murad City Skin Overnight Detox Moisturizer and the Murad Rapid Age Spot and Pigment Lightening Serum.

Essential-C Day Moisture Broad Spectrum SPF30 $65: I have been on the hunt for a good moisturizer that has SPF. Most SPF products cause a rash or a burn on my skin. This did not but it is too oily for my skin. I get clogged pores literally in a day from certain products and this is one of those product. Also within few hours my makeup started breaking down because of the oiliness of this product. I can use the Josie Maran Argan oil without a problem but for whatever reason this moisturizer breaks down my foundation. I ended up giving this away.City Skin Overnight Detox Moisturizer $72: I like the packaging on this. when you remove the lid all you have to do is press down on the container and the perfect amount of product is dispensed. Nice, simple and sanitary however this is not moisturizing enough. I also felt that the scent is too harsh for my skin. It is very hard for me to find a product that is just the right moisture level and I also think this cream was clogging my pores. I read through Sephora and the Murad site and neither one said it was non-comedogenic, be careful if you have acne prone skin. I ended up giving this away also. Rapid Age Spot and Pigment Lightening Serum $72: This I absolutely love. I kept this product. I use it every single night after cleansing and toning. I do think this helps lighten sun spots and acne spots. It’s not an instant result but few weeks of consistent usage you will start seeing the difference. Also my skin is much smoother. Even my husband said my face feels soft and smooth. I don’t get clogged pores and it absorbs into the skin very quickly. I finish my skin care at night with the Josie Maran Argan oil. I really do recommend the Rapid Age Spot product from this line. Overall I don’t recommend this line to anyone who has a sensitive acne prone skin except the Age Spot and Pigment Lightening Serum. Someone who has normal skin I think will enjoy this line.
