Beauty Empties 2018. Repurchase?

As I was running out of things throughout the year I decided to keep the empties when I remembered. I enjoy watching empties videos on YouTube so I though it would be nice to share my empties and my opinion about them.

Im going to section the items into 3 groupings. Skin care, makeup and hair care. Grab a snack and a drink. This is going to be a long one.

I guess the smallest product section is hair care. I’m not big into hair. I wash it, blow dry it but that’s about it. I like my hair straight, smooth and shiny.

Sexyhair 450 Blow Out spray. I only had a small travel size bottle but I did like it. I have very fine dirty blond hair so I have to be very careful how much of this product I use. If you spray too much it can make your hair look dirty but when you use just the right amount it is amazing. I find that 2 sprays total for my whole head is plenty. It leaves my hair shiny and smooth and it does tame the frizz. I would repurchase this product. I have another heat spray currently and once that is done Im repurchasing this one.

Marc Anthony Argan Oil of Morocco 3 day Smooth perfect blow dry smoothing cream. This is one of my favorite hair products I have ever used. It is really hard to find in the stores. I received it as a sample in one of my subscription boxes and it has been amazing. This cream leaves my hair smooth and frizz free. I don’t have to worry about it leaving my hair dirty looking. This product is much easier to use than the Sexyhair. Definite repurchase.

image.png

Living Proof Restore perfect Spray. It is a conditioning detangling spray. My hair does not like this spray. My hair is hard and tangled every time I used this product. There is nothing conditioning about it at least for my hair. It is an expensive products and not worth the price.  I use a dry shampoo from this line and that is amazing but this detangling spray I would not repurchase.

The next section is skin. I have toner, eye creams, serums and hand creams. I do enjoy good skin care very much. My skin is very moody and sensitive so I have a hard time finding products that my skin actually likes without getting red, rashy and breaking out.

Caudalie Miceller Water. This product is to be used morning and night on a cotton pad. It says its safe for face and eyes. I find it to be too heavily scented and my eyes get watery every time. My face also started to dry out after using this product.  This I would not repurchase. You can find much more affordable miceller water products from the drugstore that are much softer on the skin. My current favorite is by Simple skin care.

image.png

Pixi Glow Tonic. This is my all time favorite face toner. It has glycolic acid which gently exfoliates the skin and I can tell a difference after few days of not using it. Whenever I do use this toner my skin has a glow and its much smoother. I would HIGHLY recommend this product. I have gone through  probably 5-6 of their big bottles. The big bottle can be pricey but it last a long time.

image.png

Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance serum. This is another product I enjoy very much. It is milder scented then the miceller water but similar smell. Whenever I use this product my skin is plumper and has a natural glow to it. Also I noticed my skin had more moisture than normal when I had this in my skin care regime. Another product I would repurchase.

image.png

It Cosmetics Confidence in an Eye Cream. This eye Cream claims to brighten repair and transform. I only use 2 different eye creams and this is one of them. It does brighten your under eyes a little bit but it does not help with dark circles. I did notice my fine lines are much smoother when I use this cream. Most eye creams cause white bumps under my eyes and this cream does not do that. I have repurchased this cream so many times.

image.png

Tarte Maracuja C-brighter eye treatment. This is the 2nd eye cream I use and my current favorite. This is another cream that moisturizes my under eyes just enough where it plumps up the fine lines but doesn’t cause the white bumps. I have also repurchased this eye cream several times and will repurchase again.

image.png

Clinique smart night cream custom repair moisturizer. This is a good cream but for me it is too heavy. Also it has somewhat of a strong scent. This would be good for a very dry skin. I find that it leaves my skin too oily by morning so I personally would not repurchase but someone with a dry skin should give it a try.

image.png

Drunk Elephant Lala Retro whipped cream. This cream is just what it says-whipped. It is light and fluffy and moisturizes your skin like a dream. I only used this at night. I did find it that it was soothing on the skin when my skin was flared up. By morning any redness was gone. I would repurchase but only for night time use.

image.png

Clinique Moisture Surge 72 hour auto replenish hydrator. This is a gel consistency cream. I love using this in the morning after a shower. It is very moisturizing but not greasy. My skin soaks it up very quick and it allows the makeup to stay on all day without melting off. This is another one of my highly recommended products.

image.png

Caudalie Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet. This is another gel consistency cream. It absorbs into the skin super fast and leaves the area you put it on soft but it does not help with any moisture. My skin didn’t feel moisturized at all. I would not purchase this again.

image.png

Gold Bond Ultimate healing Hand cream. Wow. This cream is like nothing I ever tried before. It moisturizes and heals dry cracked hands without any greasy feeling and it lasts through hand washing. Your hands still feel moisturized after hand washing. I need to pick up another one of these. Repurchase for sure.

image.png

Philosophy Hands of hope coconut & guava hand cream smells amazing. It has a really really yummy tropical smell. This cream does stay greasy for a little bit but after a while it absorbs into the skin. Your hands stay moisturized until your first hand wash but the scent makes me like it. I don’t think it’s really worth the price but if you like nice smelling hand creams try it out. I will probably not repurchase this. I have extremely dry hands and this does not do enough for me.

Now onto my favorite section makeup. I have the most products in this area. I use makeup every single day so I run out of things most often in this area.

Still One Step Correct. This is a pretty primer to look at. It comes with swirls of green, purple and peach. It claims to color correct, brighten, prime and nourish the skin. It definitely helps brighten and it does hide redness but I don’t find it to help with pores. I personally like smooth skin without any pores and this does not do that. If you just want something to hold your foundation in place it is great for that but not for a full face night out look. I would repurchase for everyday work makeup.

image.png

Maybelline Baby Skin instant pore eraser. This primer fills and blurs your pores and fine lines. You can even use it alone and it helps blur the skin.  I like this primer. I have gone through 2 tubes now and I would repurchase. It is affordable, easily accessible and does what it says it is supposed to do.image.png

Hourglass mineral veil primer. This has to be my favorite primer out of all the primers I have tried. It blurs, smooths and keeps your makeup on for a long time. I usually receive sample sizes when I place orders on Sephora so I have not actually purchased one. I keep on eying it but it is very expense primer. Worth every penny though. I would buy this.

image.png

Clinique acne solutions liquid makeup. This is my go to every day foundation. I use the lightest shade and its bit dark but that is the only bad thing I have to say about it. This foundation has salicylic acid in it and it does not dry out your skin. At first I was afraid it would dry my skin but it doesn’t. It last a full 12 hours on my face and it feels like skin. I don’t get any breakouts. On my 2nd tube now. Repurchase for sure.

image.png

Tarte Amazonia Clay full coverage foundation. I have a love and hate relationship with this foundation. Sometimes it goes on so nice and other times it just sits in fine lines. Also it does not last all day. It claims to be a 12 hour foundation but it is not. When I wear it to work I can feel it moving around 4 hours into my day. Its pretty much good for running errands and that’s it. I would not repurchase this again.

image.png

Physicians Formula Nude Wear Glowing Nude Power. This is a beautiful powder. It sets makeup nice and leaves your skin with a glow. Not shiny or glittery. Just that glow from within. This specific shade I can only find on Physicians Formula website. None of the stores carry it. Repurchase for sure. I have gone through 2 of these also.

image.png

Tarte Shape Tape contour concealer. Everyone knows about this one and I don’t think there is a person out there who would say they would not repurchase. It covers and brightens like no other. I do prefer a lighter concealer for every day but I still love this one. I would repurchase.

image.png

Benefit Fake up concealer. This one is a weird one. It has a waxy exterior with a color concealer center. You can’t use it under the eyes. It is too waxy and settles into the lines immediately and setting with a powder does not help. Also it doesn’t cover enough to use on blemishes. Not really sure what you can use it for. If its something you have tried and like you may want to try out the Neutragena one. Same thing just much cheaper. I personally would not repurchase either one.

image.png

Wander Beauty Unlashed volume & Curl mascara. This is a great mascara. It lengthens and gives volume the same time without any clumps and helps you curl your lashes. One of my favorite mascaras I have ever used. Pit of a high price but im actually considering repurchasing.

image.png

Avon Big & multiplied volume mascara. OMG…this is the worst mascara I have ever tried. It doesn’t do anything to my lashes. It barely gives any color. Certainly no volume or length. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

image.png

Loreal Infallible Pro-spray & set. This is too expensive for the drugstore. You can find so many cheaper alternatives to this. I don’t find that this setting spray really makes any difference in wear time. It does melt the powders into the skin but any makeup setting spray can do that. I would not repurchase. I like the Milani setting spray more and its quarter of the price.

image.png

Lorac Alter Ego Lip Gloss in Duchess. This is a good gloss. Duchess is such a pretty nude shade. It has an amazing scent and it moisturizes your lips at the same time. It is a pricey lip gloss but I would repurchase once I run out of my other ones. I would say don’t buy the darker shades. The dark shades are patchy and bleed into the lip lines.

image.png

My all time favorite body spray is Tease by Victoria Secret. I repurchase it ever single time I run out. I probably have gone through over dozen of these. This body spray has a sweet, sexy vanilla scent. I don’t think I have smelled any other body spray like this before.

image.png

Versace Bright Crystal is another favorite. I have a back up already. This is another sweet scent but this is sophisticated and clean smelling. Exactly how its described-Bright.

image.png

This brings us to the end of my 2018 product review. I guess I mostly have repurchase items saved. I really didn’t think about saving products that I would not want to buy again.

What is your all time favorite perfume/body spray?

Happy 2019!!!

Love Kat
