Hi there. I get really excited about subscription boxes. Really any box at my door step. I love makeup and getting boxes but makeup boxes are even better. I signed up for BoxyCharm in May. I have been in love with this box ever since. You get 4-5 full-size items for $21 a month and so far every month has been over $100 value. I’ll share with you everything I got in the September box and a little bit about the items.
First and my favorite item is Pretty Vulgar Nightingale Smokey Eyeshadow Palette. It is a $35 dollar palette with 12 eye shadows. The palette has a mix of shimmer, satin and matte shades in brown, gray and blue tones. My favorite shade is Pillow Fight which has a beautiful satin sheen. The shades are Nocturnal (matte cream), Pillow Fight (champagne satin), Break Free (White shimmer), Darkside (gray matte), Hide & Seek (matte light brown-great crease color), Clutch (shimmery golden brown), Flip Out (matte brown), Eye Spy (reddish-brown shimmer), Silver Spoon (satin navy blue), Swoop (matte dark brown), After Midnight (matte dark gray) & All Nighter (matte black). All the colors blend seamlessly. Very versatile palette. Great for daytime and night out.
The second item is the Laura Geller baked blush-N-brighten in Tropic Hues. This is a $28 dollar blush. It is a beautiful peachy berry pink golden sheen blush. In the pan it looks like an intense pink shade but with my very fair skin it shows up peachy pink with a golden sheen. This blush is very pigmented so go light handed with it. If you don’t like shimmery blushes you won’t like this one. I do own an Elf baked blush in Passion Pink and if you build it up it looks very similar on the cheeks for a fraction of the cost. The Elf Passion Pink blush is a little pinker than the Laura Geller blush but on your cheeks both leave the same healthy glow.
The third items is the eye shadow brush set by Alamar Cosmetics. The cost of the brush set is $18 dollars. You get a fluffy crease brush, flat small shader brush and a square eyeliner brush. The brush handles are a beautiful green color with a copper ferrule. They are all good brushes but I prefer a more dense blending brush.
The fourth item is the Butter London Stroke of Wow Roll on Liner. This is valued at $19 dollars. I find this eyeliner a bit scary. It comes with a roller tip. I have never used one of these tips before. My all-time favorite liquid liner is the Nyx Epic Ink liner and this has a brush tip that looks like a felt tip. I did try this Wow Roller liner out and I have to say it is great for a wing liner. The roller tip draws a perfect thin line without smudging.
The final item and my least favorite are the Hank & Henry Liquid Lipstick in shade Petal Pusher. Not that its a bad lipstick but I just don’t like lipsticks in general. I prefer a lip gloss or lip balm. The packaging is super cute. It looks like a lipstick with a clear top but actually is a twist-off top liquid lipstick. Petal Pusher is a matte berry mauve color. Very appropriate for fall and winter. This lipstick retails $17 dollars.
In general, I’m happy with every box and if there are items I don’t like I give them away to friends. I haven’t had a single disappointing box yet! If you would like to sign up and try it out you can click on my referral link here for easy one-click access. I’m sure you will love it as much as I do! So many of my friends have signed up for BoxyCharm and are as excited every month as I am.
Please leave a comment with your favorite subscription box so I can find something else to love as much as BoxyCharm. I’d love to hear from you!
