I had the hardest time finding a sunscreen that doesn’t cause a chemical burn or leave me a greasy mess so I decided to share my two favorite sunscreens.
It took me many years to find the two that work. I tried high-end and drugstore brands but none of them would work with my skin. I even tried baby sunblock. Everything was either too greasy or burned my skin. My skin is very sensitive. Every time I applied sunblock a few minutes later I could feel the burn on my skin. I ended up washing it off and was left with red bumpy burns. After watching YouTube videos one of the beauty gurus talked about their monthly favorites and mentioned the Coola tinted mineral sunscreen.
I was skeptical but decided to order it. I found it on Ulta’s website for $36. It is SPF 30 and the tube has 1.7 fl oz/ 50 ml. Once it arrived I was scared to try it, afraid to have a red painful rash on my face again but of course, I tried it. How else would I find the perfect sunblock? The Coola Tinted mineral sunblock has a velvet texture that blends out beautifully. Leaves a nice velvet finish and it has light coverage. On my no makeup days, I use the sunblock only but it doesn’t cover my blemishes. It wears nice under foundation also. My foundation never balls, cracks or separates with this sunblock. You do have to shake the tube before you use it otherwise it separates and you get an oily substance. The price is pretty steep but it’s definitely worth it.

Recently Neutragena came out with a new sunblock Hydro Boost Sunscreen Water Gel lotion. You can find this from the drugstores. This one costs $11.99 and has SPF 30 or SPF 50. The Neutrogena sunblock has 3 fl oz/ 88 ml. I purchased mine from Walmart. I have been trying to find a more affordable sunblock. The Coola sunblock is amazing but pricey and only available from few places. I was very impressed with the Neutrogena Hydro Boost sunblock. It has a gel-like cream texture with a blue tint. It leaves your skin hydrated and soaks into the skin quickly without any greasiness. This one does have the sunblock scent. Makeup lasts all day. I find it to be a good primer for my foundation.

I have both of these sunblocks in my skincare routine. I use the Neutrogena Hydro Boost under my makeup and the Coola tinted sunblock when I don’t want to wear foundation. Both are excellent!
