Alamar Cosmetics Reina Del Caribe Vol. 1 Review

I received the Alamar Reina Del Caribe Vol. 1 palette in my June BoxyCharm box and am I glad I did!

This palette was inspired by the beauty and rich culture of Cuba.

Starting out with the packaging. Palette is made out of cardboard but the design of the packaging is unique. The exterior is mustard yellow with coral lettering and the interior has vibrant flowers with green foliage. It is missing a mirror but honestly, the mirror would take away from the packaging and most people don’t even use the mirror in the palette. At least I never do!

Once you open the palette you instantly get the Caribbean vibe. It’s just beautiful!

The palette has eight matte and shimmer shades. Every shade in this palette is extremely pigmented and velvety smooth. Some of the colors do have fallout but that doesn’t bother me as long as the eye shadow performs well.  Color selection is quite unique and fun. This is also a great pop of color palette for the lower lash line. You can create beautiful colorful looks but is it appropriate for the corporate world? Probably not! I would say you can get a complete look without having to pull out another palette. There are lighter and darker shades for transition and crease.  Next to each eye shadow name is either a sun or a water drop indicating which color can be used wet or dry. When wet they do appear metallic.

Below are the swatches, names and color descriptions. The colors in blue can be used wet and the colors in yellow should be used dry.

La Costa – Metallic Champagne Pink

 El Malecon – Metallic Gold

 Varadero – Metallic Royal Blue

       Celia – Metallic Mermaid Green

Coco-Taxi – Peachy Orange

Tropico – Terracotta Red

Guantanamera – Burgundy

Cafecito – Espresso Brown

You can purchase the palette from Alamar Cosmetics website for $28 dollars. If you love eye shadow you will definitely love this palette. It is a great addition to my eye shadow collection!
